Bio
John Currid is a commercial photographer and video director, based in Toronto, Canada. Born in Ireland, he moved to Canada at the age of 15. Since then he is proud to call Toronto his home although his spiritual source remains in Ireland.
When not taking photographs or directing videos he loves to race yachts, play drums and prepare elaborate meals for friends and family.
Expertise
Together with a degree in philosophy and 4 years as a volunteer health care provider in hospice I approach portrait photography and video direction with an aim to connect the viewer in a personal and intimate way with my subjects.
I enjoy connecting with a broad variety of people in order to understand and represent them in a visual way.
My specialty is lighting and use both studio strobes and continuous light to shape the image to my liking.
